FLOWER POWER.

New things: brightly coloured floral cards (from the Acid Trip Flower Shop?) and mountain/cave pattern postcard packs. Made these guys for the Etsy/West Elm pop-up this Saturday. What's with all the intense colour? Must be feeling the summer vibes.

This weekend is going to be nuts. Nuts in such a great way though! Playing a show on Friday, reppin' at the Etsy/West Elm event on Saturday, attending my pals wedding brunch on Sunday, and playing softball on Sunday/Monday nights. Does anyone have any recommendations for maintaining energy that don't require sleeping at home, sleeping at my day job, chilling out, or eating well? Please forward all suggestions to sandiisgoingcrazy@gmail.com (not really!).

Anyhow, I hope to meet/hang out with some of your nice faces this weekend at West Elm! Please say hello and we will enjoy each others company and talk about things. Potential topics include (but are not limited to): screen printing, Etsy, Toronto, the weather, your favourite beers, what you can't stand the smell of (me: coconut oil and cilantro), summer trips, home remedies, family secrets, and what I'm sure will be your impeccable sense of style. Until then!

I thought I was the only one who hated the smell of coconut oil!! It reminds me too much of really dangerous "sunbathing" in the 80s. Well, I used to hate it a lot more than I do now, now I kind of like it. But still. My dad works in refrigeration and there's some kind of gas (or maybe it's freon?) that smells like fake coconut and it used to make me gag.

These are so great, Sandie! Can't wait!

Anabela: Glad to know I'm not the only one! Everyone seems to talk about the ten million uses for it these days, but I can't wrap my head around it. I tried to make a stir fry with some the other day and the smell defintiely left me gagging. Oh well, I'll have to get my super-amazing-superfood-if-you're-not-using-this-you'll-probably-die-in-two-years health benefits elsewhere, ha.

Haha oops I meant more like the coconut smell of suntan oil -- you know that one? I actually love the smell of real coconut oil. Maybe it's synthetic coconut that I hate.

I am complicated, sorry.

Anabela: I guess it's just me then, ha! I might be able to get used to it if I exposed myself to it more. Maybe I'll brave another attempt.

I actually kind of enjoy the smell of synthetic coconut - like coconut flavoured candies. Weird.

sandi I LOVE THAT FLORAL! it's sooo reminiscent of a vera neumann floral from the 60s/70s. but totally you. DIG IT!

shayna, in elementary school there was a kid in my class who would bring boiled hotdogs to school in a thermos filled with the boiling water to keep them warm. i bet you can believe he drank the water after eating his 'dogs.

These new cards are SUPER! I'm so bummed that I'm can't make it to the West Elm show on Saturday. It's literally on my street too! I'll have to get some of the new cards soon though.

P.S. If you have any more surprise bags I'd love another!

Amy: Thanks, glad ya dig! And that hot dog anecdote? Amaaazing (and so gross)!

Jaime: Thanks too! I do have a couple more surprise bags left. I'll save one for you.

that hot dog anecdote is so upsetting! i don't know if i'm more disturbed by the lack of nutrition, the amount of sodium that kid ingested, or the thought of stinky hot dog water on a regular basis!

it's the last one. SIIIIIIIIIIIIICK.

so much hot dog water discussion. So sick! The thought of someone DRINKING hot dog water out of a thermos makes me want to die.

I will be bringing examples of all the smells I detest. We can rate them using a complicated scale of points and numbers. Be prepared.

Lemonade: THANK YOU.

Tim: But hot dogs reunited you with meat! NEVER FORGET. And yeah, please bring all the worst smells in the world with you. People will LOVE that, ha.
