EXPERIMENTS!

After seeing this post online by Caitlin Mociun I was inspired to give potato printing a try. I went with triangles (like the tutorial) to keep the experiment as simple as possible (not to mention that triangles rank pretty high on my favourite shapes list). I really like the imperfect, slightly askew motif that was produced by hand stamping the pattern! It probably took about the same amount of time as screen printing would, with a higher probability of error, but it was a pretty enjoyable experiment and I like the results. There will be more manipulated vegetables in my future!

Speaking of vegetables, my pal Shayna and I planted a late season garden in a community garden plot just over a week ago. We have no idea what we're doing but we're both excited about learning the ropes! Here is a shot of our gardens humble beginnings.
